Mount Hermon to Panamint Springs, CA
Today was a book in three chapters.
Chapter one was the ride down the 101 into Paso Robles. Windy, foggy, beautiful, and quiet, it was all I could do not to get lost in my brain. That amount of isolation brings out the inner tape track and when the road demands your attention, the balance between being completely at peace and completely focused is delicate.
Chapter two was riding to get through the miles. Between Paso Robles and Mojave is not much. it's wide open country, wide open freeways, and suburban America as best as you can imagine. The climax of the middle act, however, was In-N-Out Burger.
For it's money, and in its competition of 'fast food', I dare anyone to debate a better classic burger. Yes, there are restaurants with "world-famous" burgers, and those stand on their own merits, but In-N-Out is my hands down favorite and I
